Tuesday's Trash to Treasure: ABC Book

ABC Book Tutorial
Reuse: Notebook

Materials:
*Notebook
*Paper, scissors, glue, tape etc

I got this idea from a parenting magazine. I changed it a bit, they were doing the book as a thankful book, kids got to draw what they were thankful for, for each letter of the alphabet. I decided to just make it an ABC book. Each letter of the alphabet will have its own set of pages where we/she can draw something that starts with that letter & so on.

_I started off by covering the front cover.

My inspiration :)

_I decorated the front page

Tuesday's Trash to Treasure: Journal

Journal Tutorial
Reuse: paper

Materials:
*Paper
*White Collage Board (from a craft store)
*1" rings (from office supply store, or Hobby Lobby)
*Hole punch or scrapbook tool to make holes
*Decorative paper, stickers, anything to decorate the covers

_First cut out the cardboard/collage board to the size you want your book.
_Cut the blank papers for the inside of the book - I did mine a little smaller than the cover. You can do yours flush with the cover if you'd like.

_Decorate the front & back covers with your decorative paper & embellishments.
_Punch holes through the covers and paper inserts.
_Put it all together on the rings & you're finished! Nice thing about this journal/book is with using the rings, you can add more paper once you run out, if you want to use it as a notepad. :)

Tuesday's Trash to Treasure: Holiday Countdown Calender

I found this tutorial on Little Birdie Secrets, and thought it was SUPER cute! Here is my rendition:

Holiday Countdown Tutorial
Reuse: Picture Frame

Materials:
*5x7 Picture Frame
*Paper, Fabric, Ribbon, Buttons (etc decorate your frame)
*Crop-a-dile or Hand drill
*3" book rings
*3x4" Cards with numbers 1-31
*Paper adhesive
*Pencil or pen

_I started out with a blue frame, so I spray painted mine black (I did the rings as well). Side note: I actually bought mine from Target. It was on sale from $5.99 to $1.48. THEN, the cashier thought it was broken (I told him it was just falling apart), so he gave me an additional 50% off - a new frame for a total of 74 cents!!

_After cutting your number cards out, punch holes in them for the book rings. Make sure all the holes line up!

_Remove the glass from your frame and cover the cardboard piece with patterned paper.

_Place the cardboard piece back into the frame. Position rings where you want them, and push together like you're going to close them. This will mark on the cardboard where to punch the holes.
_Punch holes in cardboard.

_Next, use your cardboard piece as a guide and mark where to punch holes on the frame backing.
_Punch holes.

_Now its time to decorate! Put all the pieces back together & add ribbon, buttons & more!

Tutorial: {Seasonal} Decor Board

I was at Hobby Lobby the other day and got this awesome idea for seasonal decor boards- scrapbook inspired! I thought what a cute way to create something for each season! So after an hour browsing the aisles, I came home with this new tutorial!

Materials:
*Canvas board (I used 12x12)
*Fabric or scrapbook paper to cover board
*Letters, stickers, ribbon & whatever you want to decorate your board! Its your board, so put your personality into it!
*Hot glue gun
*Scrapbook dots (tape)
*Scissors
*Stapler

_If you chose to cover your board with fabric, iron it first! Most of it will be covered, but for the areas that aren't, you don't want to see lines!

_Gather your materials.

_Starting with your canvas board, cover it with your fabric/paper. I stapled mine to the back

_Begin designing your board however you'd like! Have fun!
I'm going to use mine on my mantle & use some fall decor!
